Block Vault: save the modded blocks in a build so it survives updates
The ask
You spend weeks building in a modded pack, then the game updates, a mod gets dropped or goes dead, and your build is stuck in that instance. Blocks can quietly turn to air without you noticing. Block Vault saves the modded blocks you used (their look, shape and sound) into one portable file. A small loader mod on any other version turns that file back into stand-in blocks that look the same, so the build comes with you without the original mods. It's for your own builds: it doesn't redistribute other mods' textures. Asked for on r/feedthebeast.
Done when…
The assay judges against this list. It’s locked once others chip in.- Works on NeoForge 1.21.1 with no crashes or errors in the log
- A command saves every block in a selected area: its ID, textures, shape (full, slab, stairs) and sound
- Everything goes into one file you can copy to another instance
- A loader mod on 1.20.1 and 26.1 turns that file into look-alike blocks, with the original mods not installed
- A schematic of the build pastes on the other version with stand-in blocks instead of air
- Lists any blocks it couldn't save (like machines) instead of dropping them silently
- Released free on Modrinth or CurseForge with source code
Strikes 0
No ore yet. Strikes appear here as builders submit. When the build window closes, the backers assay them.

No one’s said anything yet. Questions about the “done when” list are the most useful thing you can post.
